Look Who's Standing

Lilly is growing so fast! And in case you are listening to the babble - no that's not Ma-Ma she's saying.

Hug of a lifetime

I was about 34 weeks pregnant when I had The Talk with Goose. When we told him we were pregnant - we may have told a white lie. We told him we were getting a puppy. However, I felt like I owed him the truth. I told him the puppy was really a human baby and that I was sure there would be some crying by everyone in our household. I also told him she will pull on his ears and tails and take his toys and we aren't going to let him retaliate. Despite all of this, I ensured him they would become good friends. I thought it would start when we started letting her feed herself yogurt melts and fruit puffs because she would drop some. She rarely drops anything for him. Poor Goose. I'm sure you saw the learning to share video involving Goose's beloved busy bone. Poor Goose. Now this:

I predict a wagon pulling fiasco in our future!

Tu-Tu for You?

My friend, Kelly, from Oklahoma came up this weekend to hang out with Lilly. St. Louis has so much to offer - the zoo, botanical gardens, the art museum, history museum, the science center and the arch to name a few. So what did we do? We made a tu-tu for Kelly's daughter, Megan!

hmm... wonder where we might find a beautiful model?

Where's baby's eyes?

So I came home from work last night and Ernie showed me the pictures he took of Lilly during his watch. When did her hair get so out of control? Almost all of his photos (I'm sure he took at least 75) had hair in her face...

and although she doesn't seem to mind it....

it drives me crazy! I cut her hair during bath time. She didn't even notice. But look at those beautiful blue eyes!

Learning to Share...

can be tough on anyone and at any age. But when neither party speaks or understands any language, much less the one you speak (English in my case), it is really tough on all parties!

Baby Einstein

At our old house in South City, there lived a boy named Jack. Jack just turned 3 recently. When we moved, Jack's mom and dad added to our box count with 2 toys for when Lilly got older. According to the boxes 6-9 months. We put them in Lilly's closet and honestly, I forgot about them. So upon noticing them along with some other lost and found items, I pulled them off the shelf and assisted Ernie in the assembly line. The next morning was pretty exciting for Lilly. She really loved this little toy! And I couldn't believe how well she did with it all. She seemed to know exactly what buttons to push and even knew there was a microphone on the side.

She loves it! I am sure Lilly will be a genius and am always looking for proof and was sure this would be one of those "I remember when" stories to tell the reporter when he interviews me.

Later that day, Lilly and I were at Melissa's house for a home sales party she was hosting. Melissa is also Lilly's babysitter. I put Lilly down to play with another girl, Hailey, and guess what I see! This exact same toy and Lilly went straight to it! I asked Melissa if she's had it long and she responds, "oh, that's Lilly's favorite!"
Disclosure: While this is obviously not proof that Lilly is a genius, it could be proof that her mother is not.

Say What?!

First of all, I'm dismayed this is even happening. I was laying in bed the other day after waking up to feed our little princess at the crack of dawn and listened to her babbling and could not believe my ears! She was saying da-da. Now I know it's the easiest word for her to say and that she doesn't even know what it means or who he is (she called Goose da-da yesterday), but come on! She practiced "da-da" all week in Sanibel in front of other people and now this video...

unbelievable! I will take this moment to remind her that I carried her for 37 weeks and went through labor while "da-da" went home to shower. I also feed her, bathe her, play with her, read to her all the time. And who does she thinks buys her food?!
