Father's Day

Angie was in a car show at Kimmswick so we thought we would go over and say hello and look at some cool rides!

This is a limited edition vehicle of some make and model. Not really important information for me to store in my limited cranium. What was great about this car was its owner! A very laid back guy who has a couple of singing stuffed dogs for the kids to play with. Lilly danced to that dog for several paw plays and then sneezed on his bumper three times. He probably won no trophy or ribbon. Did I mention she left some fingerprints? And that very laid back owner? He said, "she's fine - let her look and touch!" What a great guy!

Lilly really seemed to enjoy it all! And Ernie? Well he hung out in the shade with Angie and some other guy talking car talk so Lilly and I moved on. These legs were made for walking!

Three Bears

The Bear Cubs came up to the Lou for a visit and Lilly has had such a great time! I have lots of stuff to post, but I am exhausted. Some of you keep asking for some more videos. Here is one of Sophie teaching Lilly how to leg wrestle. Ironically, when Karen arrived, she told me that she told the cubs not to teach Lilly any bad manners. Not sure where leg wrestling falls...

Crafty Moment!

I've recently been turned on to another blog that is full of great crafty ideas! And so I got motivated to dust off my sewing machine. Look at this cute little apron I made for Lilly! She is asleep right now so I can't call it complete yet because I'm not sure how long the neck ties and waist ties should be, but OMG - so cute and easy enough for me to do it! Who would have thunk?!

Animal Planet

I recently bought Lilly a water table which she loves! So after dinner last night we all went outside and played. I was pulling some weeds and found a frog so we got the camera and our extremely soaked child for a little animal planet time.

Karma...

My boss and I have this theory and have relied on it for almost 10 years. The theory is that we always volunteer and give back because we don't want karma to come back and bite us. Ernie has enjoyed teaching all his nieces and nephews and cousins to do the old Anheuser Busch commercialized phrase - "Whatzzzzz Up?"

I hoped she would forget about it, but sure enough out of the blue at dinner tonight (tonight is really June 8) she said it again! The really sad fact is that I have been concerned about Lilly's language skills and have been trying to track her words more effectively. I don't want to add that one to the list, but if I need it to get to 50 words, I guess I'll have to use it.

Little Scholar

So I was on my way home from the grocery store recently and noticed one of my neighbors was having a yard sale. Actually I noticed an old school desk in her driveway first. So I backed up and stopped. I came home and told Ernie about this great yard sale to which he responded with, "who would want a desk?" Uhm - I always wanted a school desk when I was a child!

And look at Lilly! She likes to get in and out of it and even colors at it.

What could be better than a desk for $10 obo? How about 2 for $15?! So exciting.... I'm not at all ashamed of that one summer I spent reading the dictionary.

All is Better

when we blow bubbles! Lilly loves to play with bubbles.

She is still trying to figure out how to get that blowing thing down.

but sometimes, just sitting in the grass feeling the breeze with a cold drink is really all that is needed to make a good day great!

Growing Pains

At Lilly's 15 month check up, her pediatrician asked if she was climbing up on things yet and we were quite proud to say no. She really was too short to get up onto anything without help so we've been pretty relaxed. So one day she was in the front room being very quiet. This was my first clue something was amiss.

On one hand I was so proud of her and I (quite stupidly, now that I look back on it) encouraged her to show me how she did it! again and again and again. Another moment of misplaced pride happened today. Melissa called to let me know Lilly seemed tired this morning so she put her down for a nap. Lilly was not happy with this decision and threw everything out of her pack and play - even her diaper.... Melissa dodged a bullet as Lilly didn't have any accidents while diaperless. Melissa dodged another bullet when her son Troy handed her Lilly's diaper without Lilly in it. Melissa has requested some additional bloomers for those bloomer-less dresses!

and of course there's Goose. Poor thing just can't get away from her now.

That time of year is here....

When the pool opens and we get our little ray of sunshine all SPF'd and take her to the pool!

and we determine we've been bad all winter long!

and we are thankful that we are not going to Sanibel this year. (you are welcome Coyne/Church clan)

And we found some familiar faces! Colin, Carter, and Lilly hang out during the week at Melissa's house. And Colin was so nice to Lilly - he shared his squirt gun with her and just showed her around the baby pool!
