Cutest Baby on the Block

OK - so the pool opened this weekend, but we didn't go. The weather wasn't that great. But when she does go, look at this cute cover-up Gaila made for her! Gaila has also made her a personalized gown, 2 cute t-shirts, and a diaper bag! She's so talented - I wish I lived closer to her so I could go to her house and play!

Have you Yard Saled?

The first weekend of May and October is this crazy thing I had never heard of until I got pregnant. It is this huge yard sale with all of these people selling all their baby stuff. I've never yard saled short of selling my stuff for a fraction of what I paid for it, but another friend of mine promised she'd meet me there and help me out! I really had issues with the germ factor so no soft toys, used books or anything else that looked "chewable" which pretty much left me to clothes. However, I also really didn't know what I would need so while my friend was buying things right and left and spending most of her cash, I left with a few outfits, spending a mere $5. One of my fantastic purchases was this cute Tommy Hilfiger dress for a quarter! Yes, a mere quarter... I thought if she only wore it once, I got my money's worth and then some! So it was her red, white, and blue outfit for Memorial Day. Hopefully, she'll get to wear it for July 4th also!

OK - so I broke myself in to the yardsale idea last October. Just recently, I drove by a daycare down the street from our subdivision and they were having a yard sale! Lots of moms selling their baby stuff. I stopped to see if Lilly needed anything.... She is well stocked now for 12 month and 18 month clothes :-)

I've been debating an exercauser for her, but wasn't sure if she'd like it. Heck, she has a wonderful swing that she's hardly used and great toys that other moms swore she'd love. So I found this one for $20. I think that's a good price and she likes it! So again, money well spent (I think!)

Happy Birthday!

When Lilly was due mid-December, I thought we'd celebrate her birthdays in June on the 1/2 so it wouldn't be so close to Christmas. Anyway - this is her picture for "Here I Grow" postcards. She's just getting so big and cuter every day!

Ode to Mickey

All things must come to an end unfortunately. Mickey approached me about watching Lilly for a few months when she was just a couple months old and very collicky so we were very thankful for her friendship and offer! I certainly was having second thoughts about daycare. Lilly and her are certainly going to miss each other, but fortunately Mickey lives close enough to come visit! Starting June 1, Lilly will be staying with Melissa - a very nice lady in our neighborhood.

Mother's Day

Well - I do hope we get better at these things.... There is no picture posted because we didn't think to take one. So here's how we celebrated: I went to church by myself. Lilly was asleep so Ernie stayed home in bed too! I couldn't wake her up because I felt such guilt when I realized we put her to bed Saturday night and forgot to feed her her last bottle!!
I asked Ernie to go to Glazed & Confused and make something with Lilly's hand print or foot print. He insisted he could make something himself... he's still working on it... I'm sure I'll love it when it's finished.
My goal last weekend was to clean all the bathrooms. I did get them cleaned, but forgot to do the floors. Ernie went to the city house to mow and Lilly was an absolute angel! She's started exploring things including the kick & play in her crib and her Lilly the frog toy that sings a counting song. I took a mother's day nap with the monitor and Lilly (the frog) woke me up with her song! It's really cute to listen to her push things and giggle!

Long Time, No Post!

I'd like to say we've been super-busy doing lots of fun things and that's why I haven't posted in so long, but the truth of the matter is that I've been sick. I actually coughed so much and hard that I sprained my neck! It's finally getting better - I'm probably at 80% now and pain level is now tolerable. We did go to a picnic with work on May 3. Yes, I took Lilly to a public place with lots of people and small kids with lots of germs. Lilly's fine! We didn't stay very long (lots of elements out in the public!) but we did make sure to spread some love to MTV...
