Did you read the manual?

I did read all the books! They say most babies are walking by their one year birthday. Not sure Lilly got the memo. This is not our first miscommunication. I'm guessing it won't be our last either! By the way - she did finally get a tooth! In fact - she got 2 on September 8 and is working on her third.

Do not fear....

For mommy and daddy will catch you! I read that babies will pull themselves up and then get stuck standing because it takes time to figure out how to get back on their backsides. Lilly just lets go! She knows no fear! Climbing stairs comes pretty easy (and surprisingly quick) to her!

Excuse Me!?

I have some plants on the front porch that I've been working very hard to keep alive. They were in need of water. I opened the front door and thought I may have a heart attack! This huge toad was sitting right in front of the door as if he owned the place! I don't speak toad and he didn't understand "shoo!" so the plants will wait another day for water and I'll start doing it before it gets dark out. Just one more reason I'm not a fan of country living.

Not your toy!

I will not be surprised if Lilly's first sentence is "that's not your toy." Goose is so good about leaving her toys alone (except for one bath toy!) and he is really good about keeping up with his toys. He has 3 "inside" toys to play with. Of course, Lilly only wants to play with his 3 toys. So we've started putting his toys on top of the couch out of Lilly's sight and therefore, mind.

It didn't take Goose long to figure out where we've been putting them and I think he might appreciate our efforts to protect his stuff. He just hops onto the couch and gets the toy he wants.

And sometimes he stays there a few minutes to play by himself undisturbed and savor the few Lilly-free moments he has with his toy.

She's always waiting to see if he'll drop it though!

Lilly's Claire Bear

Lilly and I went to visit Claire this week. Claire LOVES Lilly. Lilly is indifferent. Claire was born 12/12/2008 and is posting 20+ lbs already!

Kissy Kissy

That's our girl! Kisses the ground we walk on! Of course it is the same floor Goose walks on too and it forces me to mop much more frequently.

Umm, let me think...

Lilly in a few years: "of course I brushed my hair this morning!"
We might need another hair cut soon.

9 months...

Wow! 9 months have already flown by - who knew?! As of now, I am thinking a polka dot theme for her birthday bash - yes, I'm planning ahead! At her 9 month appointment she wieghed in at 17 pounds, 12 ounces; she is 28 1/4 inches long and her head is 43.4 centimeters. For Aunts and Uncles wondering if your 9-month "Here I Grow" postcard has been lost in the mail - the answer is no. Lilly and I have both been sick so the postcard has not been started yet. I do hope to get it done this weekend though!
