Big Girl Bath

We've been giving Lilly her baths in a small blow up bath tub inside the "big girl" bath tub since July. She loves bath time still! Loves to play with her toys and splash and move around in the tub. She finally has graduated to the "big girl" bath tub. Bath time is definitely more fun for her now!

Ernie called me Saturday while I was at the grocery store. I assumed he wanted to add more to the never ending list, but instead he told me our daughter took a step! While I was proud of her, I was quite disappointed I missed it. I had her all to myself on Sunday and waited for her to show me her newest skill. Instead she showed me how well she can still cry. Monday morning, I dropped her off at the babysitters and told her about this infamous step. She's seen Lilly do that already too. Monday around lunchtime, I got a text from Ernie. Lilly took two steps! Great... While I was driving home, I got another text - "Lilly took three steps!" I finally got home and could not wait to see her walk. She crawled great! Yesterday, she finally showed me her new skill with three steps! They are adorable and take great courage for her. No video yet....

Overheard this weekend...

"I'm still having trouble breathing." - Britanie Rich, 17 years old.

So Britanie had a band competition Saturday evening. Kelly and I went to watch her school perform leaving Chris and Ernie at home with Lilly and TJ and also in charge of finishing dinner and making Kelly's trifle dessert. Chris is a good man... But not exactly Bobby Flay. The recipe called for 18 squares of graham crackers to be crumbled. Kelly bought a box of graham cracker crumbs. Chris used the whole box! Not a good dessert. The pudding was soaked up by the graham cracker crumbs. Here is a picture of his new dessert: graham crackers with cool whip - delicious!

Sweet Baby

Lilly was such a trooper for the race. She had to get up early, eat her breakfast on the run, meet and mingle with a lot of strangers and it was cold outside! My cousin took this really sweet photo. She enhanced it and it's so sweet! When she sends it to me - I'll post it!

Speaking of firemen....

The Little Rock Race for the Cure does 3 Miles of Men. Basically, the concept is groups of men line the race and encourage the ladies as they run/walk the course. The firemen were everywhere and so nice!

Especially this group of young hotties who performed a little strip tease for the ladies....

Those Southern ladies LOVE this truck. Apparently, there is a group every year!

We went to the Little Rock Komen Race for the Cure. This was Lilly's first! We crashed the Harley Davidson riders' tailgate party....

Where we met Sam! Super nice guy. He gave Lilly beads and a pink bandana!

Then we saw a pink fire truck with a handsome fireman nearby.

Puppy Love

Lilly received her pink puppy when she was just a few days old from Melinda - an old pal of mine. Melinda swore this was a great gift because it's soft and silky and just good fun. Lilly could care less for this thing and frankly, I agreed, because pink puppy did not cure acid reflux or colic. I recently came across pink puppy in her closet and re-introduced them. She loves pink puppy! Welcome to the family pink puppy....

We interrupt this blog with a very important correction...

So apparently the car is a Challenger, not a Charger. It is definitely a Challenge to remember...

Arnold Days!

I don't know much about it, but apparently it is a 3 day festival in Arnold (a few miles up the road) Our friend, Angie, has a car - a Dodge Charger that is really great or something. She wins trophies at car shows all the time so we went to Arnold Days in search of this great car or a deep fried twinkie. Yes, they deep fry anything out here in the country! The cars all have signs in the dash that say "Do Not Touch!"

Fortunately - they only mean that for the outside of the car. Angie spends a lot of time washing and waxing her beauty...

Angie hardly breathed as Lilly posed. Lilly was the perfect guest though! She left no fingerprints! And she was a good luck charm for Angie - she won first place!
