Throwback Hairstyle

I have a very sweet niece, whom I love dearly (she's now 16!). I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday (it snowed a lot) and I think about the days of yore (of her) often. I remember how she loved when her Aunt Lisa came to visit. She thought I was pretty cool. She called me all the time when she was learning to read and read her paragraphs to me. Ahhh, those were the days.
I also remember my sister, Kelly putting Britanie's hair in a "Pebbles" ponytail. I was never going to do that to my daughter....

So I picked Lilly up from the babysitter the other day:

Ernie was off this day and therefore, in charge of Lilly. Usually, I come home on these days and find Lilly still in her sleeper, but today, look who got dressed?! And what a cute dress it is - thanks GAP!

Lilly's first trip to the zoo

I'd like to start by saying the Saint Louis Zoo is, by far, the best zoo I've ever been to and it is FREE! They do such a good job making the animal areas like their natural habitats, we actually had trouble finding some of the animals. The camels must have received a hair cut that morning because one of the zookeepers had a bunch of camel hair for the kids to touch! (I immediately sanitized her hands)

Our zoo has 2 toddler elephants. I dont remember how old they are now, but I'm sure they are old enough to say "I'm not a baby, I'm a big girl now!"


This was the primate house where she could see so many species of monkeys up close behind the glass. She preferred to watch the people....



Can you see those large animals in the background? We tried to focus on the larger animals thinking Lilly would be more interested in them. Lilly could care less. But oh the people! Yep, Lilly is a people watcher.

Play Date

My friend, Maria, and I were pregnant at the same time; due just 5 days apart! Here is Lilly meeting Claire Margaret for the first time. Claire played by the rules and actually came closer to her delivery date. Although Lilly is a few weeks older, Claire is bigger!


Claire has Budda-like focus with sitting skills. Lilly - not so much. We are now trying to help her fall in love with her Bumbo...
