Lilly and Claire

Lilly had a play date recently!

She and Ernie cleaned up her play area and everything!

Lilly never wants to wear a bib, but since Claire wore it for dinner, guess what Lilly couldn't live without?! And since Claire sat in the booster seat for dinner, guess where Lilly wanted to sit?

Learning to play and share is harder than it seems! But in the end, they still enjoy a good kiss!

She's doing better at feeding herself too! In fact - more went into her mouth tonight than down her shirt! I'm so proud of her.

April Showers

I went to a yard sale last weekend and found the mother ship! Sierra is 5 and just got out of her toddler clothes. Apparently Sierra's grandmother likes to shop and buys really cute things. And because Sierra had so many outfits they were all in great shape! Lilly's wardrobe is now satisfied until she starts wearing 3T stuff! Among my find: this adorable rain coat (with matching boots) for her to wear next year.

It's too big for her.

And it's not raining. She's not outside.

But look how happy she is!

What was that?

Ernie heard it too so I'm not imagining things. Lilly finally said "Moo!" and then today she was holding the phone (calling Aunt Kelly) and said "Hello!" She doesn't perform it on demand. I think she has more fun watching us perform for her!

All of the sudden she thinks wearing her sunglasses is cool.

Lessons from the Magic House

In the spirit of letting her learn...

She really wanted to mop the floor!

she was pretty thorough and focused on a few areas

but I wouldn't call it a complete job. I do hope to see this desire develop into some serious "let me help you Mommy" moments!

Magic House

Neither Lilly or I got up in time for church last Sunday so I thought we'd go to the Magic House. The Magic House is a great hands-on children's museum. Unfortunately, they don't open until 11 AM on Sundays and Lilly takes her nap around noon so I had to change plans. Besides a three story slide and a very life like grocery store and pizza parlor, what's the Magic House have that I don't have!

So I opened the pantry door and let her in!

She played with everything!

it is at this point that I realized what the Magic House has that I don't.... employees.

Lilly isn't very good at picking it all up!

Car cruise

It's that time of year again. My friend Angie will spend all day Saturday washing and cleaning her Dodge Challenger. She will then drive it 5-10 miles to Culver's who hosts the group. Lilly and I went to see what it was all about.

We walked around and checked out all the other cars. Lilly doesn't let very many people hold when I'm present, but Angie is one of the special ones.

Angie was nice enough to save a parking space for us next to her show car. So we parked Lilly's stroller and waited on the people to come look at it. One little boy did seem interested in it...
